Welcome to UK Woodpeckers. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

1. About Us

UK Woodpeckers is a handcraft woodworking business based in Devon, United Kingdom. We specialize in:

- Solid oak cabinet handles and hardware

- Bespoke house signs (oak, ash, iroko, and slate)

- Decorative woodcraft

- Timber restoration and refurbishment services

2. Orders & Pricing

- All prices are in UK Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable

- Prices are subject to change without notice

- Payment is processed securely through Stripe

- Orders are confirmed via automatic email upon successful payment

3. Bespoke Commissions & Custom Orders

- Quoted prices include design time and expertise for digital layout

- Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, custom-made goods are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right

- Once production commences after design approval, bespoke items are non-refundable

- Design approval must be provided in writing (email) before production begins

- Lead times: 2-4 weeks depending on design complexity and finish curing times

4. Craftsmanship & Natural Materials

- Wood is a natural material with unique grain patterns, knots, and color variations

- These characteristics are inherent to solid timber and are not considered defects

- All house signs receive a minimum of 3 coats of high-grade Yacht Varnish for weather resistance

- We recommend maintenance checks every 2-3 years for outdoor items

- Indoor oiled hardware should be re-oiled annually

5. Restoration Services

- We offer "Any Maker" solid wood refurbishment services

- Email photo assessments typically reviewed within 2-3 working days

- Restoration quotes issued in £ GBP following successful assessment

- Restoration lead time: 2-3 weeks depending on complexity

- Structural epoxy repairs bond splitting timber but cannot guarantee against future movement

- Refurbishment restores vibrancy and protection; it does not make items look "as new"

- Customers are responsible for all shipping costs (to and from our workshop)

6. Limitation of Liability

- Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the item

- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses

- We cannot guarantee wood will not move or split due to extreme weather conditions after delivery

- Natural timber characteristics and weathering are not covered under warranty

7. Intellectual Property

- All designs, photographs, and content on our website are © UK Woodpeckers

- You may not reproduce or use our designs without written permission

8. Dispute Resolution

- We aim to resolve any issues amicably

- If you are unhappy with our resolution, you may use the Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
